Christmas and New Year is always a busy time for Premier League club. Not only because the games come thick and fast - two matches in 48 hours this weekend - but also because transfer business needs to be done.

January 1st sees the opening of the winter transfer window and Chelsea have already done their first piece of business, while the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool have things to think about.

Though getting business done will be difficult with all the matches they have to play. However, getting any players from the other top leagues in Europe should not be too difficult as they are all in their winter breaks.

Keeping players fresh is obviously important for the good of the game, but there are few things quite so enjoyable as watching Premier League football in the chilly weather over the holidays in the UK.

Arsene Wenger and Brendan Rodgers have seen their teams fail to build of strong seasons last term and both need one or two major signings to turn their seasons around.

Chelsea and Manchester City are both looking strong and the Stamford Bridge club have already got their business going. Meanwhile, Louis van Gaal has got Manchester United firing again, but don't be surprised if they decide to splash out to land a big name.
