Liverpool could replace Simon Mignolet in January (1)

Brendan Rodgers seems to have lost faith in his £9 million goalkeeper Simon Mignolet just a season after signing him.

Eyebrows were raised when Rodgers pursued the Belgian ahead of other targets and chose to move Pepe Reina out to Napoli on loan before he was sold to Bayern Munich this summer.

Mignolet got off to a strong start at in the Liverpool shirt as he saved a penalty in his debut at Anfield. Since then, however, he has made a string of high profile mistakes, leaving his manager no choice but to leave him out of the starting XI for big games such as Manchester United and Arsenal.

An injury to Brad Jones has given Mignolet a second chance to prove his worth. Having looked less than impressive against Burnley on Boxing Day, most notably letting the ball roll out for a corner before attempting to clear.

Rodgers may feel it’s time to find another keeper. But who should he pursue?
