Pittsburgh Steelers have suffered a potentially season-ending injury blow after it was revealed that running back Le’Veon Bell is highly likely to miss their Wildcard Round match-up with Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.
The Steelers managed to secure the AFC North title with a 27-17 win against Cincinnati Bengals at the weekend but during the game Le’Veon Bell suffered a right knee injury, which is very likely to rule him out of the playoff game against the Ravens.
NFL Network are reporting that one source with good knowledge of the injury is saying that Bell is unlikely to play.
Not a good sign
"It's too early to tell, but it doesn't look good," one source inside the organization told NFL Media's Aditi Kinkhabwala.
Bell rushed for 1,361 yards in the regular season, while he also added over 800 yards in the receiving game. As of this moment, the star running back is probably the most dominant dual-threat back in the league, and losing him for the game against the Ravens could be a season-defining blow for the Steelers.

However, the good news at this stage for Pittsburgh fans is that he’s yet to be officially ruled out of the game.
“A Monday morning MRI on Bell's hyperextended right knee revealed no ligament damage, per ESPN's Adam Schefter, who reported that it will be "difficult" for Pittsburgh's star running back to suit up for this weekend's AFC playoff bout with Baltimore,” NFL.com reported.
Not just a runner
Losing Bell for the playoffs would certainly be a huge blow, but Pittsburgh has shown in recent weeks that they can win games without a stable running game. Bell was unimpressive running the ball at the weekend, but quarterback Ben Roethlisberger would certainly miss his checkdown option in the passing game regardless.
It remains to be seen whether or not Bell takes the field on Sunday, but one thing’s for sure, it’s going to be an epic battle between the two AFC North sides.
