Edge appears at RAW in a Sami Zayn shirt

Published 2 Comments

Tonight was the final episode of RAW in 2014 and it got off to a bang as the special guest general managers Edge and Christian came to the ring.

The two had been confirmed as being at the show for weeks and they were arguably the most anticipated guests since the fall of the Authority.

The hall of famer Edge and his former tag-team partner Christian are one of the greatest and most popular teams in WWE history and their arrival was loved by all.

During the show's opening segment, they made some incredible matches which pitted the biggest talents in the company today against each other.

They both shared the ring with current WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar and John Cena, but they may have sent a bigger message.

The seven time World Heavyweight Champion Edge may have been talking about the WWE today, but was he giving a slight nod to the WWE of tomorrow?

Edge appeared to be wearing a particular item of clothing under his jacket that could be a sign of what direction he wants the company to go in future years.

Under the jacket looked like a t-shirt of NXT Champion Sami Zayn who has been a very popular superstar in NXT for a long time now.

It is unusual to see a returning legend don the shirt of a current superstar, especially an NXT star.

When Hulk Hogan or the Rock make one of their many returns, they were merchandise advertising themselves.

But Edge wore the t-shirt in favour of Zayn and clearly gave the WWE Universe a big hint at who he sees as the future of the WWE.

Back with an impact

Edge and Christian were back in the ring together for the first time in many years tonight and their segment made for historic viewing.

Whilst in Washington D.C, they created two matches that went down very well with the WWE Universe.

They scheduled the match we should have seen three months ago between the two former Shield members Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins.

Whilst they also made a champion vs champion match as Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler would take on United States Champion Rusev.

They were also confronted by Lesnar who was then confronted by John Cena as the two went face to face for the first time since before Night of Champions.

In just the opening segment of the show, Edge and Christian may have had a large impact on the future of the WWE.
