Manchester United have been liked with a host of Real Madrid players recently, but the Spanish club’s president Florentino Perez has ruled out selling either Gareth Bale or Cristiano Ronaldo.
Perez says the star duo will stay put for the foreseeable future despite rumours suggesting otherwise. The Red Devils have been linked with a £90 million move for Bale and a £60 million swoop for Ronaldo - although now neither seems likely.
"Bale is not for sale and we will never listen to any offers for him," he said. "I cannot imagine Real Madrid without Cristiano Ronaldo, nor Gareth Bale. This is a unique player who has already given us a lot and is crucial to the future of the club."
Real Madrid eye Falcao swoop
It seems as though Radamel Falcao is back on the radar of the Real Madrid, who could swoop for the Colombian ace in the summer.
Falcao, who earns £265,000-a-week at Old Trafford, is struggling to show Manchester United that he is worth taking on board permanently following the completion of a loan move over the summer. He's managed to score just twice in the Premier League and has been troubled by a calf injury that has limited his first team action.
According to the Express, Real Madrid are keen on taking Falcao if Manchester United decide against activating his £43 million transfer clause, and will pair him with Karim Benzema rather than letting the Frenchman, who has been linked with Liverpool in recent months, leave.
Herrera set to make return
Louis van Gaal has confirmed that Ander Herrera could make a return from injury for Manchester United's clash against Stoke on New Year's Day. The Spaniard has been out of action since the 3-0 win over Liverpool earlier this month, but he could be in line to make a timely return.
The Red Devils will still be without Daley Blind, Marcos Rojo and Angel di Maria for the game against the Potters however. Luke Shaw made his return in the 0-0 draw against Tottenham and could start, while Antonio Valencia is a doubt.
