CM Punk's signing has divided a lot of people but Jon Jones has made it clear that he's all for watching CM Punk fail.
The Light Heavyweight champion was asked about the somewhat controversial signing of the former WWE Champion and said that it was 'unfair' to those trying to break through.
Jones finds it so unfair, that he wants Punk to have a "real opponent" so he can see "him get knocked out."
Bad blood between the two
Speaking on Monday's edition of the radio show Chad Dukes Versus The World, Jones told just how much he wants to see Punk fail.
"I just think it's unfair for the people who have been working their tails off to earn this opportunity. That's why I really hope UFC gives him a real opponent so we can watch him get knocked out," Jones said.
CM Punk is lucky to say the least
Jones feels that CM Punk shouldn't be afforded the opportunity that so many hard working up and coming UFC stars crave.
"Every day I'm at the gym watching these kids training. These guys have no money and they're training their tails off, giving up everything to be a fighter.
"Living in the gym, eating turkey and peanut butter, bare minimum to chase this dream and then a superstar like him just gets to jump into the UFC just because he knows the right people and has a name."
Jones may have an ulterior motive
Jones' comments against Punk have lead many to think that's not just down to his signing and leapfrogging those getting their start but instead relates to comments made by Punk a couple years ago.
"Let's reward more drunk drivers with endorsement deals! #responsibility" Punk tweeted out in relation to Jones' drink driving charge and his Nike deal - which has now ended.
Those words likely stayed with Jones and the announcement of Punk's deal probably frustrated Jones and although the two are on a whole different skill level (and weight level), a fight between the two would attract huge attention.
