If there’s one thing that can be said about BT Sport since their emergence as genuine rivals to the other sports broadcasting giants, it’s that they’re not afraid to try new things in an attempt to get a leg up.
Their latest gimmick is perfect proof of this, as they’ve cooked up something that nearly all football fans can both have a laugh at and relate to. Their amusing take on a Christmas advert in preparation for Chelsea’s trip to White Hart Lane to take on Tottenham Hotspur on New Year’s day is one that not only rips into the visitors, but also one that includes a song virtually any supporter will have heard at some point in time.
BT Sport gag
BT’s set of naughty Christmas carollers turn up at what appears to be the house of a Blues fan, before erupting into a timely rendition of the terrace classic ‘Where Were You When You Were S***’.
Although the house isn’t adorned with a Chelsea flag, it’s fairly safe to assume that the resident is indeed a follower of Jose Mourinho’s charges, and as such you have to give a hand to BT’s gutsy attempt at attracting coverage.
The song in question, referring of course to the copious numbers of Chelsea fans who have become such since the lucrative takeover of Roman Abramovich, could have the Stamford Bridge faithful getting their back up, though we’re sure their current form will help them rest easy.

Three points keep them at bay from Manchester City, who sit behind in second in the Premier League, and Mourinho looks keener than ever to ensure that England’s grandest prize ends up in west London come the end of the campaign.
Tottenham on the other hand are experiencing something of an indifferent season under Mauricio Pochettino. A terrible patch of form earlier in the season left many wondering whether the ex-Southampton boss was being primed for the axe before he had time to find his feet, though Spurs have since improved.
