Oh Diego. Just as Mr Maradona was beginning to sink back into the shadows after previous controversies involving alcohol and drugs, the Argentinean ace has reminded the planet of his madness with a new tattoo in tribute to his girlfriend Rocio Oliva.

The retired star, who made headlines for an assault on his partner earlier this year, has had the word "Perra" inked above his left peck - which translates into the term "bitch" in English.

With his relationship with Miss Oliva now seemingly back on track, the tattoo has riled sections of social media for the perceived sexism behind the message.

She did not seem to mind too much after she had the word "Diego" lazered onto her arm herself, but many will be angry at the distasteful gesture especially given the controversy between the pair earlier this year.

Maradona is no stranger to controversy, with his "Hand of God" one of the most stunning examples of cheating within football of all time.
