Chelsea legend Frank Lampard has agreed to extend his stay at Manchester City until the end of the season.

The former England international midfielder signed for New York City last year, and his deal with the Citizens was set to expire at midnight on December 31st.

However, a deal has been struck with the new MLS franchise, and Lampard will play on at the Etihad Stadium with the blessing of his new club.

"Frank is a star and it is no surprise Manchester City is rewarded by his contributions on the field every single day,” said Claudio Reyna, director of football for NYC FC.
