Arsene Wenger might not be man of the moment in north London following Arsenal’s disappointing 2-0 loss to Southampton on New Year’s Day, but the Frenchman might have some reprieve with regards to one of his top transfer targets to comfort him. Fresh reports today claim that Paris Saint-Germain have told Edinson Cavani he can find a new club in the summer, with the Uruguayan striker never having really settled in Ligue 1. Cavani is a known target of Wenger and, though he’ll cost as much as £62 million, would certainly offer Arsenal the firepower they need to properly compete for the Premier League title. Elsewhere Wenger has been left with plenty of food for thought after a fan approached him mid-game to voice his complaints at Arsenal’s performance against the Saints. The supporter in question was detained following the breach in security, but not before he could tell the Gunners boss exactly what he thought.
