Tyrone Mings confident he'll stay at Ipswich Town beyond January

Ipswich Town youngster Tyrone Mings is "absolutely confident" he'll still be at Portman Road beyond the January transfer window, despite the fact the £10 million-rated defender has attracted interest from Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool.

The Daily Star carries quotes from the talented left-back after he was questioned about the prospect of making the step up to the Premier League in the New Year, but he played down the possibility of leaving the Tractor Boys after insisting he is yet to receive an offer from any of his alleged admirers.

Mings has enjoyed an impressive breakthrough campaign with Mick McCarthy's Championship promotion hopefuls, and looks set for a bright future in the game after attracting attention from scouts at Old Trafford, Anfield, Stamford Bridge and the Emirates.

However, the 21-year-old appears happy to wait patiently for his chance at the top level, which might well come with Ipswich if they can maintain their current run of form between now and the end of the season.

"I haven't received any offers," said Mings in an interview with Sky Sports. "It's very easy to keep doing what I am doing.

"The speculation has come from me playing well at Ipswich and getting the opportunity here so that's all I can continue to do, to play well and keep my attention here."

He added: "I don't know if an offer would turn my head. We have to wait for that day to come but I doubt it would. I am absolutely confident I will be here at the end of January. I don't see a reason why anything else would happen."

Louis van Gaal's reported interest in Mings is strange when you consider the Red Devils splashed more than £30 million to sign Luke Shaw from Southampton during the summer, while Arsene Wenger is surely happy with the recent form of Kieran Gibbs on the left side of the Gunners' defence.

Jose Mourinho is also well stocked in that area of the pitch with Cesar Azpilicueta and Filipe Luis currently vying for a starting spot in the Blues team, so Liverpool would seem like the most likely destination of the four top-flight clubs courting the flying full-back's signature.
