Scarlets centre Scott Williams is confident that his side can achieve a top four finish in the Pro12 this year – as long as they play like they did against the Ospreys every week.

The Wales international was a standout performer as Llanelli Scarlets dominated the Ospreys to get revenge over their local rivals for a defeat in Swansea a week earlier.

"I think we wanted it more. I think it showed. We had a little bit of an edge to us," said Williams. If we keep putting performances in like that... we've got a good chance of finishing top four."

Historic win

And the result was made all the sweeter for Williams as injury forced him to miss out on the 17-15 defeat at the Liberty Stadium on 27 December.

But it was a historic result for the club as a whole as they recorded their first win over the Ospreys since 2011.

Season kick-starter

The west Wales region are currently seventh in the Guinness Pro12 and sit eight points off fourth-place Irish province Leinster.

"Our home record's good… but we've got to start winning our games away if we want any chance of getting something out of this league," said Williams.

"[Next week] is a big week and it's a big game for us next week, Glasgow away. "If we play like we did against Ospreys, then we've got a good chance."
