Poor Nosa Igiebor. The Maccabi Tel Aviv star had the opportunity to give his side a crucial win in a top four clash in the Israeli league last night but the 24-year-old Nigerian instead produced this horror miss.
Maccabi Tel Aviv could only draw last night 0-0 against Hapoel Be'er Sheva in a battle between second and third in the Israeli Toto League.
Igiebor had a great chance to put his side ahead just before half-time, after Hapoel Be'er Sheva's goalkeeper spilled a pretty tame shot into his onrushing path.
But the Nigerian midfielder somehow conspired to skew his shot wide of the post from barely four yards out. He won't want to see this again…
Igiebor is a Nigerian international, he has seven caps and two goals for his country. A midfielder with an eye for goal, Igiebor moved to Europe in 2009 to play for Lillestrøm, where he spent two seasons.
He then swapped Norway for Israel, joining Hapoel Tel Aviv, before getting a move to Betis in Spain. 26 league games and two goals later and he was back to Israel with Maccabi Tel Aviv last year.
A goal last night would have been his second in the league for his new club.
