It's bad news for Manchester United fans hoping for the return of Cristiano Ronaldo one day, Angel Di Maria does not think CR7 will be coming back any time soon.
Speaking to Radio America the Manchester United winger addressed a number of topics since his move to Real Madrid, including Cristiano Ronaldo's possible return, Wayne Rooney's importance to Manchester United and Di Maria's rapport with the United fans.
"Thank God I have the opportunity to be in big clubs," Di Maria said.
"Things got better for me, I got better. Being in big clubs makes you get used to these things. That they [the Man United fans] sing my name or ‘Argentina, Argentina’ fills me with pride."
Di Maria signed for Manchester United in a British transfer record deal worth £60m over the summer, and while his arrival was greeted with jubilation among United fans, the one they still want is Ronaldo.
Unfortunately, Di Maria believes his former-Real Madrid teammate is unlikely to return to Old Trafford - at least for the foreseeable future.
"I don’t think he [Cristiano Ronaldo] is coming back to Manchester. It’s hard to quit Real Madrid. Maybe, but I think he’s having a great time and I don’t see that he wants to change.
Conversation moved on to the Argentine midfielder's current teammates, and captain Wayne Rooney was the focus.
Rooney is described as a 'quality' player by Di Maria, who says he's been surprised by the England forward's capacity to give his all in every game.
You might think that would be the minimum required for a professional athlete, but then again maybe not.
As for Di Maria himself, the attacker has only recently returned to action following an extended spell on the sidelines through injury. His comeback continued at the weekend with a well-taken goal against Yeovil Town in the FA Cup to help send United through to the Fourth Round.
In Monday night's draw they were dealt an away trip to Cambridge United.
