Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Amos has been told he's free to leave Old Trafford this month as Louis van Gaal steps up his search for a new stopper to sign during the January transfer window.
The 24-year-old custodian has been unable to make any kind of impact in the Red Devils first-team this season, with David De Gea the established No.1 and Anders Lindegaard providing back-up to the Spain international.
Amos's last senior appearance for Manchester United came almost three years ago, and that represented only his seventh star since making his full debut in the League Cup against Middlesbrough back in 2008.
The former England U21 international has been with the club for 13 years since the tender age of 11, but his Red Devils career finally looks like coming to an end after the club informed him they will not stand in his way if an offer comes in during the mid-season window, according to the Daily Mail.
The news is likely to prompt fresh speculation that Victor Valdes will pen a contract at Old Trafford, having trained with the club since the end of October as he continues his recovery from the anterior cruciate ligament injury suffered midway through last season.

The former Barcelona man has been without a club after AS Monaco backed out of a deal to sign the Spaniard in the aftermath of his serious injury, but Van Gaal is ready to capitalise on the situation by securing his services on a short-term contract until the end of 2014/15 at least.
Lindegaard has also been heavily linked with a Manchester United departure in the New Year, which could create two goalkeeping vacancies at the Theatre of Dreams in 2015.
The Denmark international is understood to have grown increasingly frustrated about his lack of chances under the new management after not making a single appearance for the club so far this term.
Sunday's FA Cup third round clash against Yeovil Town would've been an ideal opportunity to get some minutes under the 30-year-old's belt, but he was left on the substitutes' bench again for the 2-0 victory at Huish Park in favour of first-choice De Gea.
