Victor Valdes has dropped the clearest hint yet that he has sealed a move to Manchester United by following their official Twitter account.
The goalkeeper has been training with the Red Devils in recent months as he bids to return to full fitness from the knee injury which kept him out of the World Cup in Brazil over the summer.
The move by Manchester United will of course raise some concerns amongst the Old Trafford faithful over the future of number one David de Gea, who only has around 18 months left on his contract and is yet to come close to agreeing a new deal.
Real Madrid have shown an interest in the former Atletico Madrid shotstopper in recent months and could make a move for him in the near future, although a transfer in January seems highly unlikely.
The 24-year-old has been in inspired for so far this season but says he is no rush to commit his future to the club as they continue to rebuild in the aftermath of the Sir Alex Ferguson era under Louis van Gaal.
However reports today suggest that he refusing to sign the offer of a new contract at Old Trafford as the rumours continue to circulate.
"It’s the moment to think about Manchester as we are not in a good moment," he said when asked about his future at Manchester United back in November. I’m happy there and feel very loved by the fans. I’m focused on doing well.”
If that move were to happen then Anders Lindegaard would remain as number two at Manchester United, although he has also expressed doubts over his future at Old Trafford because of his lack of first team action.
Valdes has also been linked with a move to Liverpool in the past.
