Januzaj, who has played a peripheral role at Old Trafford under Louis van Gaal so far this season despite being handed the club’s coveted No. 11 shirt last summer, posted an image of himself and the Chelsea star in training together with the Belgium national team along with the caption: “Happy birthday to the bro”.
Hazard, who turns 24 today, has also received birthday wishes on the photo-sharing app from several of his Chelsea teammates including Andre Schurrle and Willian.
Januzaj content at United?
Januzaj, 19, has yet to voice his discontent with his current situation at Old Trafford. The Belgian winger starred for the Red Devils in his breakthrough campaign last term but has made just four Premier League starts this season.
Until United’s 1-1 draw against Stoke, Januzaj had played just one minute of Premier League football since the club’s 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace on November 8.
And he was an unused substitute, to the surprise of many Manchester United fans, for Sunday’s 2-0 FA Cup victory over League One outfit Yeovil Town at Huish Park.
Van Gaal: Januzaj is staying
United boss Louis van Gaal recently dismissed speculation that Januzaj would be allowed to leave Old Trafford this month. It’s understood that several top clubs - including the likes of Everton, Real Sociedad and Paris Saint-Germain - would be interested in signing the technically-gifted winger on loan should Van Gaal change his mind.
Januzaj signed a new five-year deal with the Red Devils last season - keeping him tied to Old Trafford until 2018 - so the Red Devils are under no pressure to give the teenager more minutes.
Van Gaal may have offered Januzaj assurances of more playing time next season, with a view to helping him fulfil his potential as a Manchester United player.
The Red Devils are on course to qualify for the Champions League after a one-season absence and will be keen to make amends for their humiliating Capital One Cup exit when they re-enter the competition at the start of next season.
