Any match which involves Daniel Bryan is an exciting one and with rumours circulating that his next opponent could be Brock Lesnar, WWE could well have lined up one of its best matches for a long time.
It has been revealed that both Bryan and 37-year-old Lesnar have been scheduled to appear on WWE television next week, leading up to the Royal Rumble pay-per-view event which takes place at the end of January.
During an interview with MTV, which was carried out during his recovery from neck surgery, everyone's favourite 'Yes!' man explained what he would love to do at WWE.
Bryan reveals all
"One of the things that kills me about this is if I were champion right now I'd be wrestling Brock Lesnar and that's the match I've always really wanted," Bryan told MTV.
Given both Bryan and 37-year-old Lesnar are scheduled to appear on WWE television next week, the WWE Universe could witness this match in the not-so-distant future.
- WWE superstar issues statement 24 hours after being "fired"
- Former WWE star enraged after disgraceful Raw promo
- Returning superstar predicted to dominate Royal Rumble
Bryan continued: "I feel like we could do something completely different that people [wouldn't] have seen before in the United States...that's the match I really, really want."
Lesnar's UFC return
As intriguing as a Lesnar vs Bryan bout is, it has also been made apparent that the former may well be making a return to UFC when his contract with WWE runs out this year.
This could suggest that WWE are setting up a feud for Bryan with a different wrestler entirely, though nothing has been confirmed yet.
Even if this exciting match was a one-off and had no relation to the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, seeing the now in-form Bryan against The Beast Brock Lesnar would certainly be well worth a watch.
Other ideal opponents
During the interview with MTV, 33-year-old Bryan also explained that other ideal opponents for him would be former members of The Shield; Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns.
Bryan also said: "I want to do a pay-per-view match with Cesaro at some point." Which could well take place at some point in the WWE calendar in 2015.
What are your thoughts WWE fans, would Daniel Bryan facing Brock Lesnar be an ideal match?
