Former WWE champion Daniel Bryan is on the verge of making his pro wrestling comeback after a significant time out due to a neck injury.

Reports over the last few weeks had suggested that Bryan would make his competitive return at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view later this month, but now things have changed.

Such has been Bryan's rapid recovery in the last month, it is now reported that the Yes! Man is going to make his return even earlier than first thought. With Bryan already scheduled to appear at Raw and SmackDown next week, the former champ has been added to another WWE live event this month.

Epic match

According to NoDQ wrestling, Bryan is scheduled to appear at a WWE house show on January 16th and face former tag-team partner Kane as part of his bid to get fully fit for Royal Rumble.

"Bryan is now being advertised to wrestle Kane at the January 16th WWE live event in St. Louis. The Scottrade Center website lists the following for that Friday night live event," NoDQ reported.

Bryan is not the only top star currently on the card, with the list as follows below:

(Steel Cage Match)
; Roman Reigns vs. The Big Show;
Daniel Bryan vs. Kane;
Dean Ambrose vs. Bray Wyatt.

Huge boost for WWE

The early return of Bryan is a huge boost for the WWE and its fans because the former champion's health had been a huge worry over the last several months.

Bryan was forced to have neck surgery last year after suffering a compressed nerve injury. The popular wrestler struggled in his recovery to get the strength back in his arm, but now, those fears have subsided.
