Tottenham Hotspur fans just love to sign their special 'he's one of our own' chant for new strike hero Harry Kane, but they may just have to change their tune based on the events of the last 24 hours.
Kane has become a Spurs sweetheart this season after finding the kind of form every forward dreams of, with everything he tries in the final third coming off in spectacular style.
The 21-year-old will be pretty sheepish when he finds out what the @arsenalaction Twitter account posted late last night though, finding a brilliant snap of a Kane rocking a full Arsenal double-winning strip in his childhood.
Kane spent a year with Arseanl's
Kane is just eight in the snap that gives Arsenal fans yet another reason to taunt their bitter North London rivals, but proves that he was once played for the club at a youth team tournament back in 2001.
The youngster reportedly spent a full year with Arsenal's academy before being released, and also failed to convince Watford he was worth keeping before signing for Spurs as an 11-year-old.
Spurs patience pays off
Kane has ultimately proved he always had the raw potential to succeed as a Premier League player, but even so it's been nothing short of a meteoric rise to prominence for the England youth international this season.
The starlet has surpassed the expectations of even ardent Spurs fans, scoring 17 goals in all competitions including a fantastic brace in a stunning 5-2 victory over Chelsea earlier this month.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino took some convincing but is now finally reaping the rewards of work done at the club's academy over the last decade.
Former first-team coach and academy manager Tim Sherwood was very much a champion of Kane's cause, it seems like his faith in the youngster was far from misplaced after all.
Kane now has the challenge of keeping his rich vein of form going for the remainder of the campaign, with potential Three Lions credentials at senior level around the corner if he can manage that lofty task.
Arsenal fans will still have reason to stick the boot in regardless of his form though, safe in the knowledge that his reputation as Spurs through and through has been at least in small part tarnished this week.
