CM Punk shocked a lot of WWE fans across the globe when he decided to leave the wrestling company last January, and he shocked even more people when he decided to sign for UFC at the back end of last year.
Punk left WWE after falling out with its Chairman Vince McMahon. The former Indie darling had a clear issue with missing out on huge pay-per-view opportunities and other reports cited that he was burnt out.
However, after considerable rest, Punk decided to join UFC at the beginning of December. That move has again sent shockwaves through the wrestling company. And even those close to Punk were shocked by the move, with current Bullet Club member Doc Gallows - who was once part of Punk's Straight Edge Society - revealing that he had no idea that Punk was going to make such an explosive decision.
Shock after huge move
“The UFC move shocked me. I knew some of the other entertainment stuff he was doing, I knew he was training his ass off, I knew he was a huge fan of it, so I kinda had an inkling," FanSided reported.
"And then he announced it or they announced it, whatever, and I texted him and said, ‘Holy Crap dude, congratulations, I had no idea.’ I just talked to him in Japan, I know he’s training his butt off in Milwaukee and he’s really digging that. I hope for all the best for him.”

Wishing Punk the best
This statement is very similar to all of the ones made by Punk's friends. Even superstar wrestler Chris Jericho - who closely worked with Punk on several occasions - tried to reach out and failed to make contact with Punk following his decision to quit WWE.
It's highly likely that he was as equally shocked to hear of Punk's decision to join UFC. But like his other friends, it's likely that Jericho feels the same way as Gallows and wishes Punk all the best in his endeavours in MMA.
