LA Galaxy put Chelsea troll in his place

LA Galaxy won at Twitter on Thursday when a member of the MLS champions’ social media team responded brilliantly to a trolling Chelsea fan who had branded Bruce Arena’s side as ‘shit’.

It was victory for grammar as Chelsea fan @TackleLikeMatic was put firmly back into his place when the Galaxy moved to correct a missing apostrophe in the abusive message that had been sent their way.

Chelsea and the Galaxy have actually met in the past, with the two teams facing off in a pre-season encounter almost eight years ago, during Jose Mourinho's first spell in charge of the club.

John Terry was on target with the only goal of the game in Los Angeles, converting a pass from Joe Cole, while Mourinho unexpectedly walked out on the club two months later, only six matches into the Premier League campaign.

David Beckham played for the Galaxy that day and it was confirmed this week that the franchise had completed their most notable acquisition since the former Manchester United and Real Madrid superstar.

Steven Gerrard, another former England captain, will move to the StubHub Center at the end of the season after it was announced the Liverpool icon would lower the curtain on his long and distinguished Anfield career following the expiration of his contract.
