This past Monday on RAW, we saw Dolph Ziggler, Ryback and Erick Rowan feel the wrath of the returning Authority as they were all fired.
The three men teamed with John Cena at Survivor Series and took on Team Authority and emerged victorious.
The Authority weren't gone very long however and were back on our screens in time for the New Years celebrations.
When they returned for the first time with full power on Monday, they gave every member of the WWE Universe a reminder of why it was better with them gone.
Firing three of the biggest names in the business right now, they left fans with a sickening feeling as RAW went off the air on Monday night.
- John Cena angers WWE fans with supposedly innocent tweet
- WWE superstar named 2014 wrestler of the year
- Daniel Bryan reveals his darkest injury fears
It was quite obvious that the firing of the three superstars was for story purposes only but they now seem likely to continue the recent trend.
The Authority weren't off our screens for long and Ziggler, Rowan and Ryback are expected to be off our screen for even less time.
It is believed that all three men will only be off WWE TV until the Royal Rumble in two weeks time will all three expected to take part in the Royal Rumble match.
It has seemed for the longest time that the outcome of the 2015 Royal Rumble has been a foregone conclusion.
But has this latest twist been constructed to blur the obviousness of the outcome of the first big Pay-Per-View of 2015.
Royal Rumble open again?
With the three rumoured to be returning in the match, Randy Orton expected back in time for the event and of course the return of Daniel Bryan, there are many options the WWE could explore when looking for a winner.
It has been believed that Roman Reigns will emerge victorious for several months now, but with fan favourite Daniel Bryan back in action this coming Thursday, could that plan have changed?
Dolph Ziggler has been saying that 2015 will be his year and has undertaken the role of Bryan during his absence in constantly trying to defy the Authority.
Ziggler, Reigns and Bryan have to be the three biggest names to emerge victorious in Philadelphia.
