Sheffield Wednesday star defender Tom Lees is a £3million target for Premier League Sunderland, according to The Mirror.
Sunderland boss Gus Poyet wants to bolster his defensive options and in form Lees, 24, has been identified with the former England Under-21 international’s sensational form for Wednesday being tracked over the past two months.
Lees has been a revelation at Wednesday of late along with former Black Cat goalkeeper Keiren Westwood, captain Glenn Loovens wanted man Claude Dielna.
He joined the Owls on a free from Leeds last summer, and has delivered a series of consistently impressive performances in central defence pushing Wednesday towards the Championship playoffs.
Lees has played equally as well at right-back and it is the Wednesday defender’s versatility that will also appeal to Poyet.

In the summer of 2014, Lees signed a three-year deal at Hillsborough, and Wednesday are desperate to hang on to a player of his quality. Manager Stuart Gray sees him as crucial to his side’s chances of making the play-offs this season.
