Lionel Messi and Thierry Henry shared a smile and a handshake when they met in Zurich ahead of the Ballon d'Or ceremony.
Messi, is competing with Cristiano Ronaldo and Manuel Neuer in his attempt to win the coveted fifth time.
Former Arsenal captain Henry, who retired last month, came close to winning the award in 2003, losing out to Pavel Nedved.
Henry and Messi were teammates at Barcelona between 2007-2010. They were both in the squad that won the UEFA Champions League in 2009. They also won the La Liga twice, the Copa Del Rey and the FIFA Club World Cup.
The Frenchman scored 49 goals in 121 games in all competitions during his three year spell at the Nou Camp.

A Different Opinion
Despite the good relationship Henry enjoys with Messi, the Argentina captain would not have been his favoured choice to win the Ballon d'Or at Monday's ceremony in Zurich.
He said back in August at a New York Red Bull's news conference that he would back Thomas Muller to win the gong, but the World Cup winner was not shortlisted.
