Two weeks into January and talks between the representatives of Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather appear to be progressing well.
So much so in fact that Pacquiao has confidently claimed this week that he expects an official announcement - possibly confirmation of the much-anticipated bout - to be made before the end of the month.
Long time coming
Mayweather and Pacquiao have been at the top of the boxing realm for an age but have yet to step into the ring together despite years of speculation. Towards the end of 2014 however there seemed like a real chance that action could soon replace words, and the Filipino's latest statement will only serve to heighten anticipation amongst fans.
"We will make an announcement before the end of the month," Pacquiao told the Manilla Standard via The Daily Mail. "I think it will happen."
After endless debate, trash talking, social media 'fights' and accusations the year of 2015 could finally see the duo fight. And its not just Pacquiao who is confident about an upcoming bout with Floyd Mayweather speaking recently on the subject.

"The public want this fight. I want it. the only stumbling block has been Bob Arum (Pacquiao's promoter) but I think both fighters want it. So it's time to get it on. I'm not ducking anyone, so let's get this on, " said Mayweather in December.
Where and when
Despite both boxers approaching the twilight of their career - Mayweather of course stating that 2015 will see him fight his final two bouts before retirement - boxing fans across the world are still eagerly anticipating a fight between the two rivals.
It is believed the date Mayweather favors is May 2nd however the latest match up between Miguel Cotto and Saul Alvarez (a fight to match Pacquiao and Mayweather in hype especially amongst Latin American fans) has already been penciled in for that date.
A venue, likely Las Vegas, is also rumored to have been agreed upon and it could be this (as well as hopefully an official announcement) that Pacquiao hopes to reveal come the end of January.
