Monday 12th January 2014 will always be remembered as a big day in American sporting history thanks to the NCAA and the Denver Broncos.
The NCAA sees the conclusion of its first ever play-off season tonight with the Oregon ducks taking on the Ohio State Buckeyes.
As for the Denver Broncos, they have today parted ways with head coach John Fox and sent shock waves throughout the NFL.
In the wake of the Broncos damaging loss to the Indianapolis Colts in yesterday's divisional round play-off match, Fox and the Broncos have ended their four year relationship.
Fox took the Broncos to the Super Bowl last year but not to victory as they were convincingly beaten by the Seattle Seahawks.
- Have Marcus Mariota and Cardale Jones sent a message to Peyton Manning and Tom Brady?
- New England Patriots Tom Brady is already taking shots at the Indianapolis Colts
- Denver Broncos make huge franchise-altering decision
The Broncos have certainly had an underwhelming season despite gaining the #2 seed in the AFC.
Many have speculated that quarterback Peyton Manning has been injured for the majority of the end of the regular season and that that has contributed to their downfall.
Whatever the reason, Fox has left Denver and the Broncos players have taken to Twitter to show their feelings.
"Cold world" - Demaryius Thomas on John Fox departure
Whilst their star wide receiver takes a dark view of the world, Terrance Kingston simply said "damn".
Defensive back Omar Boldin and linebacker Brandon Marshall both shared the same sentiment:
Montee Ball also shared his views in the form of a shocked looking emoji face showing he agrees with his team-mates.
So the Broncos players are clearly rocked by the news and now the future of the Broncos franchise is up in the air.
Broncos no longer riding?
The Broncos sealed the #2 seed in the AFC but were far from convincing towards the end of the year and the play-offs weren't kind to them.
Facing Andrew Luck and the Colts is never easy but with a Peyton Manning who seemed at times unable to throw the ball accurately, the task becomes even harder.
It seems like that was the nail in the coffee for the Broncos coach who did receive a huge wave of talent in the last off-season.
There are however many rumours claiming that they may need to look for a new quarterback this off-season with Peyton Manning refusing to lock down his future in Denver or even playing football.
Now the future of the Broncos and their hopes of returning to the heights they're used to seems even more difficult.
As for Fox and any Broncos coaches that may also leave the franchise, they will surely become the most wanted coaches in the NFL.
