Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has invited zen Grandmaster Sken to the club's Carrington training ground to work with the first-team squad, in the hope the 59-year-old can help produce a considerable improvement in results, performances and the general health of his players.
Stockport-based Sken has his own Thai boxing academy in nearby Stockport and runs courses preaching the virtues of discipline and respect, principles Van Gaal clearly feels United can benefit from moving forward.
The Sun has today run with a back-page story that reveals Sken will hold a one-off trial session with Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie and co. at Carrington, with the focus on meditation skills.
United boss prepared to take risks
Van Gaal has decided the slightly off-beat training method is worth trying with his under-performing United squad, who have struggled for fitness and form across large swathes of the season so far.
Last weekend's 1-0 home defeat at the hands of Southampton has prompted Van Gaal to take drastic action, clearly believing that his players need to work on their mindset and emotional wellbeing every bit as much as the tactical and technical aspects of the game.

Injury crisis prompts unconventional approach
The Dutchman is prepared to try something different after experiencing a horrendous run of bad luck with injuries since taking charge at Old Trafford.
Van Gaal has been without a member of his huge squad on no fewer than 55 occasions already this term, completely ruining his chances of building continuity from the start of the season.
United are still very much in the driving seat to achieve their minimum target of Champions League qualification barring a disastrous second half of the season, but clearly Van Gaal feels Sken and his words of wisdom can offer a fresh approach worth taking on board for Angel di Maria and co. in January.
