Buffalo Bills appointed the much-maligned Rex Ryan as their new head coach on Monday much to the shock of the rest of the NFL.
It's not that the decision wasn't expected because it was, but more the realisation that Rex Ryan has somehow managed to secure himself another head coaching role has shocked NFL fans.
Although there are plenty of discerning voices out in the football universe ridiculing the decision by the Bills to install Ryan as their new top dog, those feelings are not shared by star players on the Buffalo Bills roster.
Star happy about Ryan's appointment
Bills star running back C.J. Spiller is particularly happy about the prospect of Ryan heading up operations in Buffalo, with the tailback stoked about the opportunity to play for a well known run-first coach.
"It strikes me well," Spiller told NFL.com. "That's what I love to do is run the football. And Rex, that is what he's known for, running the football, being physical, playing that hard-nosed football.

"I'm excited about it. This is a great opportunity for us to get this thing turned around. We ended this season on a 9-7 record, now it's just time to build on that and get into the playoffs."
How long will the honeymoon last?
Although Ryan had a terrible end to his coaching career with the New York Jets, four winless seasons don't cloud the fact that Ryan knows how to inspire and excite his players.
Ryan will act as a great inspiration for the Bills, just as he did for the Jets in his first two seasons when they made back to back AFC Championship Games.
How long the honeymoon will last for Ryan in Buffalo remains to be seen though.
