The last twelve months in the WWE have brought with it an array of positive and negative stories. Some of the most negative ones have included tragic happenings for some of wrestling's biggest legends and veterans, and now sadly we have to add another breaking story to that list.
Former ECW & WWE superstar Jason Knight has today announced via his Facebook page that he has cancer. Jason worked in wrestling from 1993 to 2009 and gained a loyal following in that time, a following that has reached out to the star to wish him the best.
He revealed via Facebook that his cancer is considerably "advanced" but he says he will not give up hope of a full recovery, according to reports.
The battle begins now
"UGH!!! Looks like throat cancer, and advanced. The battle really starts now," Knight revealed on his personal Facebook page.
The ex-WWE wrestler is now a wrestling promoter and manager and he currently resides in Connecticut. Though he is more well known for his stint in Extreme Championship Wrestling, he started his career out in WWF, as it was known in 1993.

Many fans will remember Knight from wrestling in the 1990's, and I'm sure you will join us in wishing that he makes a full and speedy recovery.
Big names who have lost the battle
Sadly, Knight is not the only wrestling legend/veteran to have suffered health problems in the last twelve months.
Last April, the WWE was rocked by Ultimate Warrior's death, after the legend suffered a heart attack. That was followed by the passing of Sean O'Haire and wrestling legend David Ferrier.
And when you throw Jake 'The Snake' Roberts' on and off battle with cancer, it has certainly been a heartbreaking 12 months for the WWE. To reiterate, let's hope that Knight makes a full and speedy recovery.
