David Moyes gets sent to stands and eats crisps with supporters

Published 1 Comments

David Moyes was sent to the stands as Real Sociedad were eliminated from the Copa Del Rey on Wednesday night - but he didn't go home hungry.

The former-Manchester United boss was spotted enjoying a light snack with a few supporters after receiving his marching orders, having hopped over a barrier to sit with the home fans.

In a clip that is sure to endear Moyes to those cold-hearted Manchester United fans who still blame him for the club's demise in the wake of Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement, Moyes can be seen sharing a packet of crisps with a lucky supporter.

Needless to say Twitter had a field day, and the Vine of him sharing the snack is absolute gold.

Despite the scoreline he's all smiles, even refusing the offer of a second helping after another fan comes to his aide with a packet of tasty treats. Possibly peanuts.

In reality, it deflected the attention away from what was otherwise a poor result for his team, as Real Sociedad drew the match at home 2-2, which sent them out 3-2 on aggregate against Villarreal.

Real Sociedad sit 12th in La Liga but are precariously just three points above the relegation trap door. Securing another season of top tier football is the priority for Moyes, so this result is not disastrous.
