Manchester United star Marcos Rojo has revealed that his representatives first told him of the club's interest after the summer's World Cup, reports the club's official site.
The versatile Argentine, who played a key role in helping his national side reach the win in Brazil last year, has admitted the chance of joining United was like a dream come true.
Ultimately, Rojo completed his move to the Premier League giants on August 20, in a move which saw Nani join his former club Sporting Lisbon on a season-long loan deal.
And, speaking about United's interest in him, the defender, who signed a five-year deal with the club, has admitted that he couldn't contain his excitement.
In an interview with United review, he said: "I was very happy and at first I could hardly believe it. After the World Cup going well, then came the possibility to join Manchester United.

"It was almost like a double dose of happiness and joy as I’d just lived through something incredible. Then I was presented with the chance to come here and that was like a dream coming true. I found out about the interest from my representatives and although I tried to take the news calmly, I couldn’t!"
Big few months
Rojo, then, was clearly overwhelmed by the move to Manchester United, and while he's made a steady start to the season, he will be desperate to prove his credentials over the coming weeks and months of the season as his side go in search of success.
Of late, the Argentine has endured injury problems at the Theatre of Dreams, but looks set to be in contention for the club's Premier League fixture with strugglers QPR at Loftus Road on Saturday.
The Red Devils will be desperate to bounce back this weekend after a disappointing defeat to top four rivals Southampton in their last outing. There's no doubt about it, Rojo and Co. will be determined to leave London with all three points on Saturday evening.
