Arsene Wenger’s search for a new central midfielder to purchase in the January transfer window may well be over, as long-term target Grzegorz Krychowiak is set to leave Sevilla. It’s claimed this morning that due to the Spanish outfit having practically completed the signing of Lucho Gonzalez, Krychowiak is no longer needed at the club. As such it opens the door for Arsenal to move in with a bid for the 24-year-old, who has garnered a reputation for being a tough-tackling midfielder. Fans may remember the Poland international for causing a stir when he joked that he’d agreed a move to England back in December, before backtracking on Twitter and revealing it was a joke. Other news isn’t quite as rosy, as it appears that the Gunners will be without both Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Debuchy for a number of weeks. Arteta has suffered a setback in his bid to recover from ankle and calf injuries, whilst his French counterpart dislocated a shoulder during the win over Stoke.
