Everton full back Seamus Coleman could leave the club as early as this month with Manchester United preparing to make a bid according to reports.
The hierarchy at Old Trafford met today to discuss whether they should go for Coleman or Nathaniel Clyne and it's believed that they are favouring a move for the Irishman.
Big money offer
It's understood Louis Van Gaal has been handed another £150m transfer kitty and a right back is towards top of the list of requirements.
Coleman is contracted to Everton for a further five years and has shown no signs that he wants to leave the club despite a poor run recently. However, should a lucrative offer come from Old Trafford it's one Coleman will struggle to turn down.
It's not as if he will be sitting on the bench at Old Trafford either with current right back Rafael Da Silva struggling for fitness and form. The 26-year-old is also a better option than Antonio Valencia in that position.

United are preparing a bid for this month but it's unlikely that a deal will happen. Also take into consideration Everton's participation in the Europa League.
A more likely transfer
One player who looks more likely to leave Goodison Park this month is Samuel Eto'o. He has accepted an offer from Sampdoria despite Brazilian club Santos offering a more substantial deal.
Eto'o would prefer a move to Italy as his family are still living there. His agent Claudio Vigorelli, told an Italian Newspaper: "He's chosen Genoa [Sampdoria's home city] and he's really motivated."
"His family lives in Milan and he dreams of playing in such a passionate place like Genoa to finish his career. He's a great professional and has done well wherever he has been."
Roberto Martinez is interested in out of favour Atletico Madrid winger Christian Rodriguez according to the Liverpool Echo.
The Uruguayan has struggled to make it into the starting line up and is looking for a move away to get more regular football. They are facing stiff competition from Parma, QPR, Aston Villa and Crystal Palace.
It's thought Martinez is also monitoring the situation between Aston Villa and Manchester United regarding Tom Cleverley. Martinez is a long term admirer of the 25-year-old from his Wigan days but should Cleverley decide against signing for Villa permanently, Martinez will look to snap him up on a free transfer.
