With the January transfer window in full flow, most Premier League clubs have yet to really get going with major signings - even when a bit of stardust could be just the thing to reignite seasons.
Manchester City's £30million purchase of Wilfried Bony is the only big-money deal so far, and it feels like that big is a little too big. Manchester United and Arsenal both have some very serious issues to address, as both have seen their top four ambition dented in recent weeks.
Fans of the Old Trafford club may well be alarmed by the reports in today's slice of juicy transfer talk. Louis van Gaal has been backed with significant funds so far during his time in charge of Manchester United, but spending big in this window now looks less likely.
Meanwhile, Arsenal fans will be enthused by what Arsene Wenger has revealed about his transfer dealings this month as it signifies new faces are heading in. Having said that, the Gunners faithful are long-suffering when it comes to mid-season transfer windows, so they will hardly be surprised if nothing happens.
Chelsea what looks to be the bulk of their transfer deals done in the summer with the additions of Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa, with January looking like being a quiet month. This may not please some of the Stamford Bridge squad however.
