Liverpool host Chelsea tonight in the first-leg of their Capital One Cup semi-final. Both sides will be looking to get a positive result, with the Reds knowing that it will be a daunting task to take more than a point away from Stamford Bridge in the return fixture next week.

Liverpool form

Brendan Rodgers's men have hit a good patch of form after losing to Manchester United earlier on in the season, and the Northern Irish manager will know just how important a cup final appearance could be for morale.

In contract Jose Mourinho remains every bit as competitive as ever, and with The Special One's side currently sitting top of the Premier League and having qualified with ease for the Champions League knockout phase, he'll be dreaming of more than just the one trophy.

Tough contest

The Blues possess arguably the strongest squad in England when all players are taken into account to, meaning that even if Mourinho tinkers with the squad that thumped Swansea City on Saturday, Liverpool will still be up against it.
