Amongst the WWE superstars, there is no exception to having to face a long time away from the action through injury and on Monday Night's episode of Raw, Sheamus proved backstage that he is itching to get back into the ring.
Speaking to Eden Stiles, he explained his concern after being put through the announce table by Mark Henry, just before Survivor Series.
The Dublin-born superstar went on to say that despite being worried about the damage done by Henry, he was able to head home to Ireland to spend his first Christmas with his family and friends in six years.
The 36-year-old continued: "But as much fun as that was, always in the back of my mind was getting back to America and doing everything I can to get back in the ring.
"If it was up to me, I'd be in that ring tonight trying to Brogue Kick someone's head off, but unfortunately it's up to the doctors and the surgeons to make that call."
Sheamus may well be implying that he is not quite 100% fit and able to make his return just yet, but surely his appearance at Monday Night Raw is an indication that it won't be too long before we can see the Celtic Warrior back in the ring.
With the Royal Rumble pay-per-view event just around the corner this coming Sunday, he may well be an entrant to add to the growing list for the hugely anticipated 30-man match.
Happy to be involved
The Irish WWE superstar then went on to express his delight at being present at the Monday Night Raw Reunion event which took place last night in Dallas, Texas, explaining that the legends there such as Kevin Nash, Ric Flair and Scott Hall, were the reason he and many other current WWE superstars wanted to get into the industry.
The previous World Heavyweight Champion ended his chat with this: "Tonight I think I'm going to kick back, grab a beverage, put my feet up, and watch Monday Night Raw Reunion...as a fan."
On a side note, it seemed that Sheamus' iconic ginger locks were no longer under his cap; could this be a new look for The Celtic Warrior's return?
