Williams have become the first team to reveal their new 2015 car, the FW37, via the front cover of the popular magazine F1 Racing.
This year sees a largely unchanged set of regulations, certainly compared to those seen in 2014, but with winter testing getting underway in 10 days time, the new Williams is the first indication of how teams will interpret the biggest area where rules have been altered for 2015, the front nose.
2015: The year of the 'thumb'
Last year, the FIA introduced new height restrictions for the nose on safety grounds, however, as designers took the rules to the extreme, most cars had a conspicuous looking 'finger' as the height limit was only restricted to a certain width of the nose.
For this year, in a bid to end such designs, the FIA increased the minimum width of the nose at certain sections leading to a configuration similar to the 2014 Ferrari.
The changes are obvious to see comparing the 2014 Williams (above) and the new 2015 car which is in the link at the end of the opening sentence.

There is still a small 'thumb' to meet the new rules but the main nose cone is much more in line with last year's Ferrari albeit without such a steep drop from the end of the chassis to the tip.
An unchanged formula for success?
Last year Williams saw much of its renewed success from having the slipperiest car on the grid aerodynamically, allied to the most powerful power unit.
It would make little sense therefore for the Grove team to step away from the same formula this year and on first glance much of the bodywork appears to very similar to that on the FW36.
Much of this is because the car seen at the launch is often very different to that at tests and is even moved forward again in time for the first race such is the pace of development and also to keep any new innovations that may offer an advantage out of the sight of preying rivals.
One area the new car will need to improve, however, to maintain a stronger challenge is tyre wear, last year the Williams struggled at the traction-dependent circuits and with more power and torque expected from the new V6 turbo hybrids, what was considered a conservative tyre from Pirelli last year, could be more aggressive this.
But apart from that, as mentioned, last year saw something of a revival for Williams as they moved up from struggling midfielders to becoming the 'best of the rest' at season's end behind the dominant Mercedes.
While a return to the top step on the podium narrowly evaded them, it will be interesting to see if the new FW37 can take more of a fight to the Silver Arrows and with an unchanged line-up of Felipe Massa and Valtteri Bottas both could be considered dark horses entering the new season.
