Liverpool supporters were at their creative best during last night's Capital One Cup semi-final first leg clash against Chelsea after fabricating a funny new chant that mocked the appearance of Diego Costa, comparing the prolific striker to 'The Elephant Man'.
The Redmen TV uploaded a video to their YouTube channel which captures footage of Anfield fans baiting the Blues marksman midway through Tuesday's 1-1 draw, as he struggled to make much of an impact on the game.
Costa had an uncharacteristically ineffective evening as Liverpool's three-man defence managed to keep the Spain international quiet for the majority of the match. However, they were unable to do the same with Eden Hazard, who won an early first-half penalty after Emre Can abruptly ended the Belgian winger's jinking run in the box.
Hazard gave his compatriot Simon Mignolet the eyes and hammered home his spot-kick to give Jose Mourinho's side an early advantage, which was later cancelled out by a fine individual goal from Raheem Sterling after the break and leaves the tie tentatively poised heading into next week's second leg at Stamford Bridge.
Costa will be hoping for a much easier night in front of his home supporters, but should expect more hostility from the travelling contingent of Liverpool fans in west London, who will be well aware of the threat that he possesses in their side's bid to book a place in the Wembley final on March 2.
The light-hearted song relates to the ongoing speculation about the former Atletico Madrid talisman's actual age, following previous accusations that the £32 million man is in fact a lot older than 26.
So far there's been no evidence at all to suggest that Costa's birth certificate is a fake, but don't let that get in the way of a good terrace chant!
