Andy Murray and Roger Federer through to third round in Australian Open

Published Add your comment

We start off with the latest from the Australian open, where both Andy Murray and Roger Federer qualified for the third round of the tournament with respective wins over Marinko Matosevic and Simone Bolelli. Federer had to come from a set down to overcome Bolelli, whilst also suffering from a blister on his right hand, though Murray’s progression was far more straightforward. Elsewhere Danny Cipriani has earned a recall to the England rugby team, and is training with the squad ahead of their first Six Nations clash against Wales in February. The Sale Sharks star hasn’t played a championship game for seven years, but it looks as though he could take part when England kick off the tournament at the Millennium Stadium. In football Arsenal fans have cause for celebration as their club has announced the signing of Legia Warsaw midfielder Krystian Bielik. The 17-year-old put pen to paper on a deal at the Emirates Stadium this morning, and is tipped for bright things for the future.
