WWE: Chris Jericho says fan reaction key to Roman Reigns' progression

On and off superstar wrestler Chris Jericho has revealed his thoughts on Roman Reigns and whether he has what it takes to reach the top of the WWE.

In the next few months, WWE are set to push Reigns' character to the point where he will either be WWE Heavyweight Champion or he will at least be competing for the title.

Smart money is on him taking the Royal Rumble by storm, with Reigns expected to main event WrestleMania 31 in March one way or another. But despite his predicted rise, Roman Reigns has come under intense criticism in the past few months since his return from a hernia injury.

Reigns progressing well

WWE fans across the globe love Reigns but the majority feel that his acting ability still leaves something to be desired. This is not something Jericho has an issue with though. Rather, the superstar wrestler feels that Reigns is doing a great job.

"I think Roman's doing great, I think there's a lot of guys doing great," Jericho told Digital Spy. "But it all depends on the reaction of the fans and I think right now the next two or three weeks are crucial to see what kind of reaction these guys get and that will decide where they are going to be slotted in WrestleMania. They're listening to what the crowd is reacting to, and then deciding from there."

The WWE Universe will decide

Having performed in the WWE for endless years, Jericho knows all about the ins and outs of the wrestling company.

Jericho says that Vince McMahon and all of his head writers will currently have tentative WrestleMania plans in place, but he believes that crowd reaction in the coming weeks will determine how far Reigns progresses amongst WWE's elite in the next few months.

"If Roman Reigns is getting a great crowd reaction, then there's a great chance he's going to get more and more of a push - that's how things go," Jericho added. "I think they probably have a tentative plan already for the top three or four matches at WrestleMania, now they just have to see if the pieces continue to fall into place."
