Although Cristiano Ronaldo has linked with a move back to the Premier League with Manchester United, any chance of a return to England has been dealt a blow.
The former Red Devils' star has previously said that he would be interested in a return to Old Trafford one day.
But Ronaldo has now stated that he would like the opportunity to play in Brazil before his career ends.
The current holder of the Ballon d'Or revealed that he would like to play for one of Corinthians or Flamengo. The winger suggested that he would be inclined to end his career in Brazil, after his contract with Real Madrid ends.
Ronaldo told reporters: “Corinthians and Flamengo are two famous clubs, I would gladly dress in one of their shirts.”
“In Brazil I have many friends, so my relationship with the country is very good. At real I have passed many Brazilians with Kaka one of the people I respect most of all.”
Messi an inspiration
Ronaldo, who won the Ballon d’Or for a third time earlier this month, has hailed his rivalry with Lionel Messi as an inspiration.
The Real Madrid talisman said that the competition between the two was a motivating factor in his desire to remain at the top of his game.
