The prospect of competing in the main event of WrestleMania is looming ahead of this weekend's Royal Rumble and its chance to challenge for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. One man who has all eyes on him and the added pressure, is Roman Reigns.
Fans aren’t yet fully sold on Roman Reigns or the fact that he might be walking out as the winner of the Royal Rumble this weekend and then becoming the WWE World Heavyweight Champion in March. Of course, Reigns has the potential to be the biggest WWE superstar today but right now it’s debatable as to whether Reigns is ready.
Improvement is needed
Stone Cold Steve Austin is another man who also thinks that, he was interviewed this week on the PWTorch Livecast and a number of topics were thrown his way and he provided insightful knowledge and opinions on them, one of those being Roman Reigns.
When asked about his thoughts on The Juggernaut, Austin admitted that he really likes Roman Reigns and that he believes Roman Reigns is a talented superstar. Even though he has the talent, the WWE is reaching an important moment on the calender which could set up the future of the WWE and with so much pressure already on Roman Reigns to impress, Stone Cold Steve Austin has added to that by saying Roman Reigns is too ‘green’ right now.
He also believes that right now Roman Reigns simply doesn’t have the body of work to get that sort of astronomical push especially with so many doubters and critics. Perhaps the better choice would but be someone who is a sure-fire success, barring any injures.
Austin said that Roman Reigns needs to improve if he wants to carry the WWE World Heavyweight Championship but at the same time he admitted another member of The Shield is set for a massive future.
The undisputed future of the WWE
It’s no secret that Roman Reigns was seen as the one who would achieve the most once The Shield ended but Seth Rollins is the superstar who has taken the world by surprise and has solidified his claim that he is the living, breathing future of sports entertainment.
In the same interview, Austin mentioned that Seth Rollins could very well end up being one of the greatest heels of this generation; certainly a bold claim but he isn’t the only one who has been impressed with what Seth Rollins has brought into the WWE over the last year or so.
Earlier this week Paul Heyman was quoted as saying that Seth Rollins is the best in-ring performer in the world today.
“Seth Rollins, who is – in my opinion – the single best in-ring performer in the world today. Undisputed," Paul Heyman told Rolling Stone.
It’s really difficult to argue with Stone Cold Steve Austin and Paul Heyman, Seth Rollins is set for a blockbuster 2015.
No WrestleMania 32 return
Earlier this week it was revealed that the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas will play host to WrestleMania 32, the home state of Stone Cold and Jim Ross suggested that Austin looks in great shape and that a return for The Texas Rattlesnake and even The Undertaker could be on the cards.
But Stone Cold has shot that claim down.
Of course, anything can happen in the WWE and who knows whether Stone Cold will feel the same in the months to come, but when asked if the AT&T Stadium could fill 100,000 fans would lure him back, Austin said he was happy being left out of the equation and that there’s only a “frog’s hair” of a chance of him coming back.
He also discussed many other topics such as Randy Savage going into the Hall of Fame, how he feels Cesaro’s presentation has been screwed up as well as the popular interview with Vince McMahon on his podcast. To listen to the full interview – click here.
