The 2015 Royal Rumble left the WWE hierarchy in no doubt on one thing. The WWE Universe remains firmly behind Daniel Bryan and is desperate to see the former Heavyweight Champion back on top.
Bryan's early elimination during Sunday night's Royal Rumble event was met with long and loud boos from the WWE fans in attendance, and the internet backlash stemming from the controversial decision (and a disappointing Rumble in general) has been clear for everyone to see.
But, despite the growing pressure on Vince McMahon and co to bow to popular demand, it appears the WWE CEO is refusing to buckle and add Bryan to WrestleMania main event plans.
As it stands there is no scenario that sees Daniel Bryan fighting in the biggest match of the year after his early elimination.
Rumors though in the aftermath of the Royal Rumble claimed that there was a possibility that Daniel Bryan - as was in the case at last year's event - could take part in a three-way at WrestleMania 31 in a bid to appease angry WWE fans.
Reports emanating out of the WWE today however suggest that Vince McMahon has rubbished the idea, rejecting the proposal due to fears that the organization would be "going to the well" too many times - threatening Daniel Bryan's longevity in terms of popularity.
Adding Bryan to the main event would see a similar storyline to Wrestlemania 30 - replacing Orton and Batista with Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar - but at least it would give fans something to cheer.
Reign's Rumble triumph was far from a success and clearly the WWE needs to act fast to regain the support, and trust, of its fan base. If they stick with Reigns vs Lesnar they face another failed PPV event in a year that Vice McMahon has already predicted will be the greatest in WWE history.
While 2015 may be a big year in McMahon's mind, it looks like his aversion to using Daniel Bryan come crunch time means that the leader of the 'Yes!' movement is facing 12 months of taking the back seat as he returns from surgery.
