After a summer of spending, it has been an incredibly quiet January transfer window for Louis van Gaal and Co. at Manchester United.
Despite the Red Devils still proving inconsistent on the pitch, United have yet to make any movements in this current market. There is still time for the United hierarchy to act and deals could yet take place over the course of the next week.
However, there a number of stars who could yet depart Old Trafford sooner rather than later. Here are some of the big transfer stories coming out of Manchester...
Five midfielders face axe
The Daily Star have reported that as many as five of Manchester United's midfielders face the axe at the Theatre of Dreams.
It has been suggested that the likes of Nani, Anderson, Darren Fletcher, Wilfried Zaha and Nick Powell could all leave the club, as boss Louis van Gaal continues to implement change at the club.

The same report has also suggested that goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard, who has fallen down the pecking order at the club after the arrival of Victor Valdes, is also set to to exit the club in the near future.
Bale happy in Madrid
The Mirror, meanwhile, have reported that Welshman Gareth Bale is happy in Madrid, as he's responded to rumours linking him with a move to Manchester United.
When asked about United's interest, the ex-Spurs man said: “For me no. I did an interview recently and I said I’m happy here, I’ve got several years left on my contract and I’m having a good time. We’re winning trophies and I want to stay here.”
De Gea set to stay
David de Gea, though, looks set to snub a move to the Bernabeu, with reports circulating that he has in fact signed a new long term deal with Manchester United.
In fact, citing reports from Italy, the Express have suggested that the shot-stopper has put pen to paper on a new five year deal worth £140,00-a-week.
There's no doubt about it, if Manchester United have secured the player's signature for the long term, then fans will be extremely pleased, as the 'keeper has been without a doubt the club's standout performer of the season far.
