The Australian Red Bull Renault driver Daniel Ricciardo is a definite contender for the fight for the championship this coming season…
With three race wins under his belt in the 2014 season, he was the only driver to come close to tipping Mercedes off their mighty lead last term, despite having a clearly inferior car.
He challenged the likes of Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg on numerous occasions and was always there to capitalise on their mistakes during poor qualifying and race performances. He also put up good fights to the Williams and dominated the McLaren, Force India’s and Ferrari’s.
Expect progression from a genuine young talent
Last season was the Australian’s first at Red Bull and he showed his raw talent, pace and confidence to push the car to its absolute maximum performance.
Now being the number one driver of the team, he will be first to receive upgrades and improvements on the car, which will no doubt improve his 2015 performance even more so.

Breakthrough is welcome positive for F1
Lining up along side Kvyat, who has only ever raced in 19 events in Formula One, Ricciardo will no doubt smash the inter team battles next season – he even managed to rival closely with his team mate last year, Sebastian Vettel, a four-time world champion.
I believe last year was only the start to the Aussie’s successful career at Red Bull that will one day lead the 25-year-old to a world title - providing he is given the right tools to do so, which Red Bull are sure to do.
With the Mercedes expected to be quick again this season, we will see whether the likes of the rumoured improved Red Bull engine will rival the reigning champions. Given what Ricciardo did last season, he will bounce back even stronger and close the gap even more so this coming season. A definite contender for the 2015 World Championship.
