Raheem Sterling's Liverpool future in doubt

Published Add your comment

Raheem Sterling's Liverpool future has been thrown into doubt after complications with his agent, according to the Express.

Sterling is currently a client of Sports Management, which is run by Rob Segel, but it appears that Aidy Ward is ready to leave the company behind, and ultimately take Sterling with him.

These changes, then, could complicate contract negotiations with Liverpool, with the report suggesting that the duo of Chelsea and Real Madrid are interested in landing him in the near future.

There's no doubt about it, Sterling is recognised as one of the world's leading young players, so it's not surprising that the likes of Chelsea and Co. are interested in securing his services.

Sterling a star

Liverpool, though, will surely be desperate to keep the winger, as he continues to progress in England's elite division. Despite some tricky periods throughout the course of the campaign, Sterling has proved his credentials at the Merseyside club over the last 18-months or so.

As well as starring at Anfield, Sterling has quickly become a regular on the international scene and is clearly held in high regard by England boss Roy Hodgson.

Liverpool focus

Reds fans will most certainly be hoping that the player's future is settled sooner rather than later, but for now the club will be concentrating on this weekend's Premier League schedule.

After being dumped out of the Capital One Cup last night at the hands of Chelsea, Brendan Rodgers' side will be desperate to bounce back this weekend as they play host to West Ham.

The Hammers, though, will prove no push overs, with Sam Allardyce's side flying high in the Premier League. In fact, West Ham currently sit ahead of the Reds in the league table, but Rodgers' side will overtake them with a win on Saturday.

And the Liverpool faithful will once again hope that Sterling's in fine form for the club as they look to breakdown the West Ham back four.
