WWE has never been accused of being fair. There is a certain type of superstar that is pushed to the top of WWE's ladder and a certain type that is held back.
The WWE Universe have recently become aware of this and Daniel Bryan has been the main reason for the sudden change. CM Punk was probably the first superstar that spoke openly about how much he wasn't supposed to succeed in WWE, but Bryan seems to have been the superstar who reaped the rewards from using his size to his advantage.
When Daniel Bryan wasn't included in The Royal Rumble last year the WWE Universe used their voice and began the "Yes Movement" that the former Tag Team champion rode all the way to the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Wrestlemania 30.
He then surrendered the title due to injury and didn't return to WWE until late last year when he announced he would be taking part in this year's Rumble, with many fans predicting he would pick up where he left off, but sadly that wasn't meant to be.
With injury fears now plaguing any creative ideas to push Daniel Bryan up the WWE ladder, it seems WWE could have lost faith in Bryan as former WCW announcer Mark Madden explained recently on Jim Ross' podcast.
“I look at Daniel Bryan and I look at the way he was treated at the Rumble and really barely being in there, and no matter how many times the fans cheer him and chant ‘YES’…they (WWE) don’t believe in him," he said.
That’s obvious and I’ve heard that from the inside as well. WWE management doesn’t believe in him and they’ve convinced themselves that Bryan isn’t what’s over…that the ‘YES’ chant is what’s over and that’s obviously insane.”
It is crazy to think Daniel Bryan could come back and pick up exactly where he left off, but Bryan has a lot of fans and it's obvious the WWE Universe is behind him no matter what path his storyline in WWE takes, but it seems like WWE have run out of ideas.
Sheamus at Mania
The rumoured match for Wrestlemania now is Daniel Bryan v Sheamus, a match that was supposed to be part of last years card and was also part of Wrestlemania 28 when it only lasted 18 seconds.
Sheamus returning as a heel could add some excitement to the booking but fans want to see Daniel Bryan back involved in the main event and it seems that much like last year, they are not going to keep quiet about it.
