Real Madrid star Fabio Coentrao will be free to join Manchester United if the Spanish giants secure the signature of Valencia ace Jose Luis Gaya, according to the Express.
The report, citing Spanish newspaper Marca, has suggested that the Bernabeu giants are determined to land Gaya, who has a release clause of £13.5 million in his current deal.
Real's interest in the 19-year-old will, however, come as a major blow to Arsenal, who have also been credited with interest in the player in recent time.
There's no doubt about it, Gaya looks set for an extremely bright future in the game after impressing at the Mestalla throughout the course of the season so far.
And his potential move to the Spanish capital could hand Manchester United the opportunity to land Coentrao before the close of the January transfer window.

The same report has suggested that a move for Coentrao is now a real possibility, with it being suggested that Manchester United are ready to secure his services for £25 million.
Coentrao, who is predominantly a left-back, would certainly suit United as he's extremely versatile. As well as playing in the back-line, he can also play out on the wing and slot into the centre of midfield.
There's no doubt about it, despite signing the likes of Marcos Rojo and Luke Shaw this past summer, the Red Devils have struggled in the defensive department under the new regime.
At times this season, United have looked vulnerable, so could do with a player as experienced as Coentrao. It remains to be seen, however, as to whether Manchester United press ahead with the move in the coming days.
The United players will currently be gearing themselves up for this weekend's Premier League clash with Leicester City at Old Trafford.
After a disappointing recent run, the Red Devils will be desperate to get back to winning ways and secure all three points as they look to secure a place in next season's Champions League.
