WWE legend Hulk Hogan has continuously talked about making a return for the last several years. And we don’t mean a return to WWE to do a guest bit on Raw or a pay-per-view; this is full on competing for the championship belt and even an appearance at WrestleMania.
But this week the talk got even more serious. As we know in the WWE business, ‘never say never’ is the mantra and it applies to everyone – even a possible future return for CM Punk applies to that. But Hulk Hogan’s next return could be much more imminent and exciting.
Hogan is extremely popular with the older generation of WWE fans but he’s a wrestler so famous that is popularity amongst the WWE Universe ultimately transcends age. A competitive return for the big man would captivate any audience, and that’s something that Hogan has certainly got his eye on.
In training for comeback
"I got some advice from a wise man, his name is Vince McMahon and he said, 'Never, say never.' I'm back home in the WWE, this is where I started, I'm home and to end the legacy and put the period on the end of the sentence I am training right now like I'm getting ready for the WWE Championship,” NoDQ reported on Thursday.
“You just never know when Hulk Hogan is going to tear the house down. It could be any time, it could be anywhere. I am training and getting ready for my last match, my last run or my retirement match. It's not over until the fat lady sings and I haven't put the period at the end of the sentence yet."
WrestleMania 31 comeback?
Hulk Hogan also commented on the chance of performing at WrestleMania 31, with the legendary wrestler stating that he’s ready both for one final send-off in the wrestling business, while he also feels he could make one last run at the WWE title.
"If it happened [a WrestleMania 31 match] I would want it to be the greatest match of all time, of course ... If it's the end of my career and a huge emotional send-off that would be great, or if it's the beginning of another huge run for Hulkamania and me chasing the dream of winning the WWE title, that would be brilliant. I'm thinking very positively about getting back in the ring,” added Hogan.
